Varanasi, 06 October 2024: Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi, a Central University, has decided to use the score of UGC/CSIR NET Examination, June 2024 for admission to Ph.D. programme for the academic session 2024-25 and no separate Research Entrance Test will be conducted by the University.
The candidates are accordingly advised to apply for the UGC/CSIR NET Examinations of June 2024 for getting admission in the Ph.D. programmes at Banaras Hindu University. Earlier score of NET shall not be valid for PhD admission in BHU for academic session 2024-25.
The University offers two modes of admission to the Ph.D. programme viz., Research Entrance Test (RET) Mode and Research Entrance Test – Exempted (RET-Exempted) Mode.
- The JRF qualified candidates shall be eligible for consideration under the RET Exempted Mode.
- 2. The JRF qualified candidates as well as the candidates qualified for the Categories II and III of the UGC/CSIR NET Exam June 2024 shall be eligible for consideration under the RET mode.
Further, for admission to the Ph.D. programme under this mode in Institute of Agricultural Sciences, the score of the Agricultural Services Recruitment Board (ASRB) Examination 2024 shall be used. The candidates are accordingly advised to apply for the UGC/CSIR NET Examinations of June 2024 for getting admission in the Ph.D. programmes at Banaras Hindu University. Earlier score of NET shall not be valid for PhD admission in BHU for academic session 2024-25.
