Pathsala (Assam), 07 December 2020: Bhattadev University, Pathsala, a state university in Assam, has released PhD Admission Notification for January 2021 session. PhD Admission available in the following departments: Assamese, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics, Physics and Zoology.

Eligibility: Candidates for admission in the PhD programmes must have a Master’s degree in the concerned or an allied subject with at least 55% of marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade. A relaxation of 5% of marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ Differently-abled (with equal to or more than 40% disability) as per UGC guidelines.

Selection Procedure
(a) The eligible candidates will be admitted by following a two-stage process.
(i) All candidates seeking admission to the PhD programme must clear the PhD Entrance Test to be conducted (in offline mode) by Bhattadev University (BU-PET) with qualifying marks. The syllabus of the entrance test will consist of General (50%) and Subject-specific (50%) questions.
(ii) An interview will be organised by the University for those candidates who will have qualified the BUPET to determine the suitability of the candidates for Ph. D. admission.
(b) Candidates who have cleared NET/SLET and other equivalent national tests are exempted from appearing in the written test. But, they have to appear in the personal interview
