 Mumbai, 27 March 2020: The application window for Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) 2020 has opened since 16 March 2020. CUCET 2020, a consortium to conduct entrance examination  for Admission to various programs in Central Universities, has been released.

For 2020 CUCET national level examination, fifteen central universities, four state universities, and one NIT are joining. Candidates aspiring to pursue PhD programmes in these institutes should appear the Research Programme Entrance Test conducted by CUCET.

All Ph D seats of these participating institutes will be filled on the basis of performance in the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET ) 2020. Here, SkillOutlook presents the Exam Pattern and Composition of Research Programmes Entrance Test of CUCET 2020.

For PhD Programmes CUCET will conduct test on 06 & 07 June  2020. The exam will be based Computer Based Test  (CBT).

The test will have two parts: Part A and Part B. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Part A: Language, general awareness, mathematical aptitude, analytical skills and Research Methodology– comprising of 50 MCQs Part

Part B: Domain Knowledge – comprising of 50 MCQs.

 Applicant will have to choose one correct answer by clicking on the bubble in computer screen. There will be no negative marking in research program (RP) exam.

Each paper will be only of Two Hours Duration.

The answer keys for various Test-papers will be uploaded on 08 June 2020 (For RP programmes) at CUCET-2020 website.

Merit List: The relative merit shall be decided based on CUCET 2020 marks (70% and interview/Viva-Voce (30%) shall be given as per the UGC (Minimum Standards and procedure for the award of M Phil/Ph.D Degrees – 2nd Amendment) Regulations, 2018 dated 16/10/2018

Admission Process: Admissions are handled at the level of each of these Central Universities and State Universities for their respective programs. After the declaration of the CUCET results, the respective Central Universities and State Universities will declare the counselling/admission schedule and merit list based on the weightage on CUCET-2020 score.

CUCET 2020 registration has commenced from 16 March 2020 on the official website. The application fee for General/ OBC/ EWS Applicants  is Rs. 800/- and  for SC/ST Applicants – Rs. 350/- . PWD Applicants – Nil .

The closing date for online registration of Application – CUCET 2020 is 11 April 2020.
