Mumbai: Hectic activities are going on as Doctoral Degree or PhD admission for the upcoming session has picked up. Generally the December or January PhD admission session is known as even or spring semester in Indian higher education system. Prominent institutes such as IITs, NITs, premier research institutes and universities have already notified their doctoral programme admission process. There are many institutes have opened their admission window also.
As on date many institutes have already closed the admission process for the upcoming session. Meanwhile there are more than 25 institutes where PhD admission process is open for January 2018 or 2018-19 academic year.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dharwad, the new generation IIT, has invited online applications for the admission to the PhD Programme starting in the Spring Semester (January session) of the Academic Year 2017-18. Admissions are offered in the departments of: Biosciences and Bioengineering, Chemistry, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics. The last date for receiving the online PhD applications for the Spring Semester (2017-18) is 3rd December, 2017 (Sunday).
Tezpur University, a Central University based in Assam, has released admission notification for PhD Admission Spring Session 2018. The PhD programmes are offered in the following subject groups: School of Engineering; School of Humanities and Social Sciences; School of Management Sciences; and School of Sciences. Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Vadodara has released PhD admission notification for January 2018. PhD admission is going on for Manav Rachna University for 36 seats. Fellow Programme in Management admission process is open for IIM IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta.
PhD admission is also open in KL University, Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar , XIM Bhubaneswar – XUB, and others.
National Institute of Immunology New Delhi has announced the admission process for PhD Programme for Academic Session 2018-2019. NII PhD Entrance will be held on 18 February 2018 for AY 2018-19 session. In a short notice, NII has informed that the details of application process for both the Channels will be available at the NII website shortly. The online application web portal will be available by fourth week of November 2017.
