Mumbai: Indian Institutes of Technology, popularly known as IITs, are dream destinations engineering & technology students. The demand for pursuing doctoral programmes in IITs is great and many PhD aspirants apply for doctoral programmes. Out of 23 IITs in India, PhD application admission window is open in 11 IITs for the semester II 2017-18. Hence, aspirants can apply PhD programmes in various disciplines.
Out of 23 IITs in India, five new IITs who have commenced their academic year in BTech programmes don’t offer doctoral programmes. Two IITs, IIT Gandhinagar and IIT Roorkee have closed their admission window for the upcoming Spring Semester of 2017-18 PhD programmes.
IIT Kharagrpur has extended its admission window to 17 October 2017 for the Spring Session 2017-18 PhD programmes. In addition to IIT Kharagrpur, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Guwahati, IIT Patna , IIT Roopar have already notified for PhD admission. Meanwhile, IIT Tirupati, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, IIT Palakkad, and IIT Indore.
