New Delhi, 07 April 2024: In India, there are 32 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and more than 20 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs). These premier research and education institutes admit PhD scholars in two sessions. Now Admission for Semester I of 2024-25 session has commenced.
As on 07 April 2024, there are Five NITs have announced PhD Admission for Semester I 2024-25. These institutes offer attractive fellowships, popularly known as Institute Fellowships.

NIT Jalandhar Opens PhD Admission July 2024 for 544 Seats: 201 Seats with Institute Scholarship
Jalandhar, 07 April 2024: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar, an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications for PhD Programmes for July-December, 2024 session. Institute Fellowship benefits are available to Full Time PhD scholars.

NIT Surathkal Opens PhD Admission July 2024 for 188 Institute Fellowship Seats
Surathkal, 07 April 2024: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Surathkal, an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications for PhD Programmes for July 2024 session. Institute Fellowship benefits are available to Full Time PhD scholars.
Full time research scholars are eligible for a fellowship of Rs. 37,000/- pm for the first two years and Rs. 42,000/-pm for the remaining two years on satisfactory progress if they qualify in the national level written test and a technical interview, both conducted by the respective DRPC of the concerned departments in physical mode at NITK, Surathkal. The Research scholars have to assist in teaching and laboratory work assigned by the department and are eligible for 30 days’ vacation leave per year.

Allahabad, 05 April 2024: Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad, an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications for PhD Programmes for Odd Semester (July 2024 session). Institute Fellowship benefits are available to Full Time PhD scholars.

NIT Meghalaya Announces PhD Admission July 2024 with Institute Fellowships
Shillong, 29 March 2024: National Institute of Technology (NIT ), Meghalaya, an Institute of National Importance, has announced PhD Admission for Autumn 2024 session. The PhD Programs, in Full-time (FT) and Sponsored Part-time modes, are offered in 08 departments of the institute.

NIT Calicut Announces PhD Admission July 2024 with Institute Fellowships
Calicut, 17 March 2024: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut, an Institute of National Importance, has released PhD Admission notification for Monsoon Semester (July) Admissions 2024.
Types of PhD:
Scheme I: Full-time registration with Institute Fellowship or other Govt. Fellowships like CSIR-UGC JRF/KSCSTE/INSPIRE etc.
Scheme II: Full-time registration under the Self-Sponsored category
