These premier research and education institutes admit PhD scholars in two sessions. Now Admission for Semester I of 2024-25 session has commenced.
As on 27 March 2024, there are Four NITs and Two IIITDMs have announced PhD Admission for Semester I 2024-25. These institutes offer attractive fellowships, popularly known as Institute Fellowships.

SV NIT Surat Announces PhD Admission July 2024 with Institute Fellowships
Surat, 27 March 2024: Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications for PhD Programmes for July 2024 session. Institute Fellowship benefits are available to Full Time PhD scholars.

GATE Not Mandatory: NIT Warangal Announces PhD Admission July 2024 with Institute Fellowships
Warangal, 19 March 2024: National Institute of Technology (NIT ) Warangal, an Institute of National Importance, has announced PhD Admission for July 2024 session. The PhD Programs, in Full-time (FT) and Part-time (PT) modes, are offered in 13 departments of the institute.
Fellowships: The candidates selected for admission into PhD under Full-Time program are eligible to receive institute fellowship as per Ministry of Education, (former MHRD) rules. Category-wise (EWS, OBC, SC, ST, PWD) reservations on overall available seats will be followed as per Government of India norms.
