New Delhi, 20 November 2024: In India, there are 32 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and more than 20 Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs). These premier research and education institutes admit PhD scholars in two sessions. Now Admission for Semester II of 2024-25 session has commenced.
As on 20 November 2024, there are five NITs have announced PhD Admission for Semester II 2024-25. These institutes offer attractive fellowships, popularly known as Institute Fellowships.

NIT Trichy Announces PhD Admission for January 2025 for 58 Fellowship Seats
Tiruchirappalli, 20 November 2024: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli, Top NIT as per NIRF 2021, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to PhD for January 2025 session.
There are four types of PhD programmes available for admission:
Full-Time
(i) Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA), and (ii) Externally Funded (iii) Non-Stipendiary
(b) Part-Time: In-Service (i) Internal and (ii) External
Total PhD Seats: There are 17 departments offering PhD Programmes. The total number of PhD Seats with Institute Fellowships are 58 (Full Time-Stipendiary Category).
Maulana Azad NIT Bhopal Opens PhD Admission January 2025 with 181 Seats
Bhopal, 06 November 2024: Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, popularly known as NIT, an Institute of National Importance, has released PhD Admission Notification for January 2024-25 Session.
Total Vacant PhD Seats: The total number of PhD seats (Full Time Research) are 104 while total seats for part Time PhD are 77.

Visvesvaraya NIT Nagpur Opens PhD Admission January 2025 with Institute Fellowships
Nagpur, 30 October 2024: Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur, an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications for PhD (Full Time) and PhD (Part Time) program admission for January 2025 session. Financial Benefits for PhD (Full Time) scholars with Teaching Assistantship is available.

NIT Kurukshetra Announces PhD Admission for January 2025 for 46 Fellowship Seats
Kurukshetra, 26 October 2024: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Kurukshetra, an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to PhD for Even Semester 2024-25.
Total PhD Seats: There are 13 departments offering PhD Programmes. The total number of PhD Seats with Institute Fellowships are 46.

SV NIT Surat Announces PhD Admission January 2025 with Institute Fellowships
Surat, 27 September 2024: Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications for PhD Programmes for January 2025 session. Institute Fellowship benefits are available to Full Time PhD scholars.
The institutes provide PhD programmes under the following categories: (a) Full-time Institute Research Scholars (FIR); (b) Full-time Research Scholars and Paid by Government/Semi-Government Organization / QIP / EFIP (FRS); (c) Full-time Sponsored Candidate (FSC); (d) Part-time Institute Faculty and Staff (PIS); (e) Part-time Project Staff (PPF); (f) Part-time External candidates (PEC); (g) Full-time Self-Financed candidate (FSF); (h) Full-time Study Leave candidate (FSL).
