New Delhi, 06 January 2023: In India there are 32 National Institutes of Technology (NITs). These Institutes carry Institutes of National Importance (INIs) tag and are dream destination for PhD Scholars. These research universities offer Institute Fellowships as per Ministry of Education norms.

These institutes offer attractive Teaching Assistantship or Institutional Fellowships to PhD scholars.

As on 06 January 2023, there are Four NITs which have opened PhD Admission for January 2023 session.  The total number of Institute Fellowships seats are expected be nearly 200 seats.

List of NITs Open PhD Admission:

  • NIT Andhra Pradesh- 18 January 2023
  • NIT Durgapur- 49 Institute Fellowships Seats- 13 January 2023
  • NIT Uttarakhand- 32 Institute Fellowships Seats – 31 January 2023
  • NIT Jalandhar- 82 Institutional Fellowships Seats – 10 January 2023

NIT Andhra Pradesh Opens Admission for PhD & MS January 2023 with Research Assistantship

Tadepalligudem, West Godavari, 05 January 2023: National Institute of Technology (NIT)) Andhra Pradesh, Tadepalligudem, is an Institute of National Importance, announced Admission for PhD and MS (by Research) programs for July 2022.  Both Full Time and Part Time PhD Programmes are available. Half Time Research Assistantship (HTRA) is available to the full-time scholars who are admitted to PhD programmes in different departments.

The following is the list of admission modes for PhD and MS programmes:

PhD Full-Time – Stipendiary Category

  1. – Project category

PhD (Part-Time)

MS (by Research) – Offered only in externally sponsored mode.

The last date for submitting the online applications is 18 January  2023.

NIT Durgapur Opens PhD Admission January 2023 with 49 Institute Fellowships Seats

Durgapur, 01 January 2023: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur, an Institute of National Importance, has released PhD Admission for Even Semester 2022-23. The total number of PhD seats with Institute Fellowships are 16 across nine departments.

The PhD Admission is available in the following categories:

Regular Research Scholar with Institute Fellowship          A

Regular Research Scholar with financial support from Government Programs (sponsored by DST, CSIR, UGC etc, MeitY etc.)                B

Regular Research Scholar selected in Externally Funded Sponsored Projects in the Institute         C

Self-Sponsored PhD Program

Regular Foreign Research Scholar Admitted through Government of India

NIT Uttarakhand Opens PhD Admission for Even Semester 2023: 32 Institute Fellowship Seats

Uttarakhand, 24 December 2022: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Uttarakhand, an Institute of National Importance, invites applications for PhD Admission for Even Semester 2023.

Types of PhD:

Full Time (Institute Sponsored)

Full Time (Sponsored)

Full Time (Self-Sponsored)

Part Time

Key Dates: Last date for receipt of application form is 31 January 2023. Candidates are required to pay Rs. 500/- as application fee (Non-Refundable) through online.

Total Vacant Seats with Fellowship: The total number for Full-Time (Institute Fellowship) seats are 32.

NIT Jalandhar Opens Admission for PhD January 2023; Out of 209 seats 82 for Institutional Fellowships

Jalandhar, 22 December 2022: Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, has announced Admission to PhD ((Full Time & Part Time) programmes for January 2023.

Full Time Research Candidate will be eligible for institutional fellowship scholarship.

PhD Admission is available in the following categories:

PhD (Full Time) with Institute Fellowship

JRF/DST/ Inspire Fellowship

Part- Time (Institute)

Part Time (Under Project)

Key Dates & Application Fee: The closing date for submission of application is 10 January 2023.

An Application Fee of Rs.1000/- (Rs.500/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates) is required to be paid online.
