Kolkata, 17 April 2022: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata, one of the IISER Group of Institutes under Ministry of Education, has invited applications from eligible candidates for PhD Programmes Autumn Semester 2022. All IISERs provides Fellowship Benefits to regular PhD scholars.
Doctoral Research Areas: Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Computational and Data Sciences, Earth Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences (Economics), Mathematics and Statistics, Center of Excellence in Space Sciences India (CESSI) and Physical Sciences.
Eligible applicants of the PhD programme are encouraged to apply for the attractive Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (https://pmrf.in/) in addition to applying to IISER Kolkata regular admission.

Eligibility Conditions:
For Department of Chemical Sciences:
Minimum Eligibility Criteria: Bright and motivated candidates who have passed M.Sc. examination with minimum 55% marks in any field of Chemistry or Physics. Besides satisfying minimal eligibility criteria, the candidates must have CSIR/UGC-NET JRF, INSPIRE fellowship or other equivalent fellowships.
* Candidates with INSPIRE fellowship should have a provisional certificate at the time of application.
The department might set additional shortlisting criteria based on academic records, experience, and research interest of the candidates. Candidates without the CSIR/UGC-NET JRF, INSPIRE fellowship, or other equivalent fellowships will not be shortlisted or called for interview.
