Guwahati, 28 September 2023: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, an Institute of National Importance, has announced PhD Special Admission for March 2024 Session (Science Subjects).
For March 2024, the seats are offered in the following Departments:
- Chemistry -12
- Physics -08
Total Number of PhD Seats: The total number of PhD Seats available are 358 for the December 2022 session. Special Seats for PhD Programme under CSIR/UGC JRF Scheme are 45.

The details of Application & Processing Fee are as follows: All Female Candidates: Rs. 300/- All Transgender Candidates: Rs. 300/- All SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates: Rs. 300/- All Other Candidates: Rs. 600/-
Mode of selection: Online Interviews through video conferencing using MS Teams, G-Meet, etc., as per the convenience. For selection process, the candidates need not to come to the campus.
