Dhanbad, 10 April 2021: Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad, an Institute of National Importance, has released PhD Admission notification for 2021-22. IIT (ISM) Dhanbad offers PhD programme is 23 departments. The PhD candidates will receive Institute Assistantship as per Ministry of Education.

Key Dates: Last date for applying through online portal 05 May 2021.

Interview for shortlisted candidates –  June 28 to July 2, 2021.

Tentatively, Interview may be online due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation. In normal case, the interview will be physical in the campus at respective departments.

The Application Fee for General/OBC/EWS candidates is Rs 2,000 /- . The Application Fee for SC/ST/PC/Female candidate is Rs 1,000.00.

Institute Assistance (IA):  The Institute may provide full-time Ph. D. students who have qualified GATE or any other eligible national level examination, financial assistance in the form of teaching or research assistantships (referred to as IA). IA will also be provided for IIT graduates having CGPA greater than or equal to 8.0 after Ph.D. admission. The Ph.D. students will be awarded the assistantships for a period of five years based on the performance every year.
