New Delhi: The Lok Sabha Secretariat, Parliament of India, grants research fellowships to undertake research of high standards on Parliamentary themes. Now it has invited applications for 25 Research Fellowships for the year 2018-19.
Financial Benefits: Maximum of Rs10 lakhs (plus Rs.50,000 as contingency allowance) will be awarded to encourage and support original studies on subjects relating to Indian Parliament. The duration for the fellowship will be 2 years.
Eligibility:
(i) The scholar should not be less than 25 and more than 70 years of age on the last date of application.
(ii) The scholar must posses a Master degree in any of the social science disciplines with outstanding research publications at the time of application.
(iii) The scholar must be a person with an outstanding academic record in any discipline relevant to parliamentary studies or should be an expert in her/his own domain.
Selection Procedure for granting Research Fellowships: The selection for the grant of Research Fellowships will be made by a Fellowship Committee.
Thereafter, Fellowship Committee will shortlist the meritorious proposals from the eligible applications. Such applicants would then be invited for an interaction/presentation before the Fellowship Committee.
The Fellowship Committee shall consider and recommend the names to the Hon’ble Speaker, Lok Sabha, for the grant of Lok Sabha Fellowships.
Key Date & How to Apply: Applications to be submitted latest by 10 January 2018 . Applications may be sent in hard copy as well as by email.
The Fellow is required to complete the research project within the period of two years from the date of the award.
