Agartala, Tripura, 13 May 2024: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala,  an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications for PhD Programmes for June-July  2024 Academic Session.  Institute Assistantship  benefits are available for Full Time Research scholars.

PhD Admission is available in the following subject groups: (a)Engineering, (b)Science (c) Management  Humanities & Social Sciences Departments.

Key Dates & Application Fees: The last date of online fee payment is 28 May 2024. The last date of submission online application is 30 May 2024.

Eligibility in Brief:

Candidates for admission in PhD programme in Engineering Departments must satisfy one of the following criteria:

Master’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent in an appropriate area with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 point grading system or equivalent 65% of marks (CGPA x 10). Preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology from a centrally funded Technical Institute with an excellent academic record and with a CGPA of at least 9.0 out of 10 point grading system or equivalent 90% of marks (CGPA x 10). Candidates must have valid GATE score tenable for the year of admission.

Master’s Degree in relevant science discipline with a good academic record and of exceptional m6rit are eligible for relevant engineering discipline with minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 point grading system or more or at least 65% of marks (CGPA x 10).  Preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates.

*** Conversion of CGPA to percentage and vice-versa will not be allowed.

B) Admission to PhD programme in Science Department must satisfy one of the following criteria:-

Master’s degree in Sciences with a good academic record and with a minimum of 65% marks (or equivalent or 6.5 CGPA in a 10 point grading system) or 60oh of marks (6.0 CGPA out of 10 point grading system)”{CGPA x 101 with a GATE score or UGC/CSIRNETA{ BHM tenable for the year of admission. Preference will be given to GATE/NET qualified candidates.

Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology or equivalent academic record with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 out of 10 point grading system or equivalent or 65% of marks (CGPA x 10) . Preference will be candidates. is eligible with a good or given to GATE qualified

 BTech/ BE, degree from a centrally funded technical institute in India with a minimum CGPA of 9.0 in a 10.0 point scale or equivalent of 90%o (CGPA x 10) of marks with a valid GATE score .

 Scholarship Facilities:  Regular Full Time scholars may be awarded Scholarships/Assistantships as per Ministry of Education, former MHRD, Institute guidelines.
