Durgapur, 20 January 2021: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Durgapur, an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to PhD Program Even Semester 2020-21. Full Time PhD with scholarship will be eligible for Institute Research Fellow.
Date of online admission test and viva-voce (by respective departments/ center) is 29 January 2021.
Categories of PhD Admission:
Category-A: Full-time Research Scholar with Institute Fellowship: Open for various Departments as stated below (with a maximum 5 years of Scholarship)
Category-B: Regular Research Scholar with financial support from Government Programs (sponsored by DST, CSIR, UGC etc.)
Category-C: Regular Research Scholar selected in Externally Funded Sponsored Projects in the Institute
Total Vacant PhD Seats with Institute Fellowship: The total number of vacant PhD seats with Institute Fellowship are 15.

Financial Support
Fellowship as per the current norms of MHE, Government of India shall be available to all selected Regular Research Scholars (Category-A).
The application fee of Rs 1,500/- (Rs 1,000/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates), which is non-refundable, has to be paid to the following account by means of NEFT or IMPS only. However, a valid payment proof document of successful transaction has to be produced by the candidate.
