Surathkal, Karnataka, 09 May 2022: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Surathkal, an Institute of National Importance, has called for applications for Admission to MTech (Sponsored), MTech (Research) and PhD Programmes 2022-23.
The total PhD intake capacity is 140 for the current session with Institute’s fellowships. The vacant seats are available in 14 departments:
- Intake for MTech (Research) for 2022-23 -63
- Intake for MTech (Sponsored .Programme) for 2022 –23
Fellowships: Full time research scholars are eligible for a fellowship of Rs. 31,000/- pm for the first two years and Rs. 35,000/-pm for the remaining two years on satisfactory progress.

Last Date for Online Submission of applications – 25 May 2022 (Wednesday)
Last Date for hard copy of applications to reach NITK – 27 May 2022 (Friday)
The registered candidates have to complete Online Application form and pay prescribed application fee, i.e. Rs 500 (OC / OBC/EWS) and Rs 150 (SC / ST / PwD) through IRIS portal on or before 25 May 2022 (Wednesday).

PhD Selection Procedure: Selection of candidates for admission to Ph.D. programme will be based upon the GATE score, academic performance in the qualifying examinations, written aptitude test, presentation on a research topic and interview as specified by the DRPC of the concerned departments.
