Nirjuli, Itanagar: North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST), Deemed to be University, Nirjuli, Itanagar, is an autonomous, fully funded and controlled by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, Government of India.
NERIST has already announced Admission for Post Graduate & Ph.D. Programmes: MSc, MBA, MTech and PhD for 2020-21. Considering COVID 19 pandemic, NERIST has extended the closing date for submission of online application to 28 Aug 2020.
Total Seats: MBA – 38, MSc -88 , MTech -220 , PhD -164. The PhD seats of 164 are available in 12 departments of the institute.
Key Dates:
Online Registration /Application Submission for PG/PhD Admission is extended to 28 August 2020. Earlier the closing date of application submission was 06 August 2020. The revised notification for admission schedule through NEPGET 2020 will be notified on the Institute’s website in 2nd week of September 2020.
PhD Details:
Eligibility for Ph.D. (Full Time & Part Time): Candidates having Master’s Degree in Engineering & Technology with 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA 6.5 on 10.00-point scale and 55% marks in aggregate in Science/Humanities for General category. 5% marks relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PWD category in both the cases. Applicants, who wish to pursue Ph.D. while in employment /service, need to submit NOC from (Annexure-IV) their employer at the time of counselling cum admission.
There is a provision of limited scholarship for the Ph.D. (Full Time) scholar as per Institute norms and the Institute decision in this regard shall be treated as final.
