New Delhi, 04 December 2020: In India, there are 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and IIEST Shibpur, which come under NIT Council and are declared National Institutes of Importance. For PhD and Research Program, NITs admit students in two sessions. For December 2020 and January 2021 session, some NITs have already notified their PhD Admission.
These institutes offer Institute Fellowships or Teaching Assistantship to Regular PhD Scholars. Also, the tuition fee, other study expenses are very low. Hence, NITs are very popular among PhD Aspirants.
As on 04 December 2020, there are three NITs which have opened their application window for PhD Admission for January 2021 semester. Meanwhile three NITs have closed their application portal as application deadline ended: Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur and Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat and NIT Andhra Pradesh.

NIT Warangal Announces PhD Admission with Institute Fellowship December 2020
Warangal: National Institute of Technology (NIT )Warangal, the third Top ranked NIT in India, has released PhD Admission Notice for December 2020 session. The PhD Programs, in Full-time (FT) and Part-time (PT) modes, are offered in 13 departments of the institute.
Fellowships: The candidates selected for admission into PhD under Full-Time program are eligible to receive institute fellowship as per Ministry of Education, (former MHRD) rules.

Under GROUP B PhD Program category: No financial assistance or stipend by NIT Silchar will be provided for this GROUP.
