Nagpur: Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur has invited applications for PhD admission for January 2018 session. There are 15 departments where PhD admission has been sought. Candidates, whose ME / MTech/ MArch/ MPlan / MSc result is awaited, can also apply for PhD program. They will have to submit the result of ME / MTech/ MArch / MPlan/MSc exam before 31 Jan 2018, till that time their registration will be provisional.
Key Dates & Application Fees: The closing date for submission of application is 27 March 2017. The application fee is Rs 500/-.
List of Subjects in which PhD admission is available:
Engineering: Civil, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Centre for VLSI & Nano Technology, Computer Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgical & Materials, Mining, Applied Mechanics, Architecture & Planning.
Applied Sciences: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities (English, Sociology, Management, Psychology).
Selection: All candidates will be required to appear for the written test, which will be conducted in the respective departments on the date specified in the information brochure. Further, the candidates shortlisted on the basis of performance in the written test shall be interviewed.
Financial Benefits for PhD (Full Time) with Teaching Assistantship: For PhD (Full Time) with Teaching Assistantship, Post Graduate (M. Sc. or equivalent) Degree in Basic Science with NET/GATE Qualification or Graduate Degree in Professional Course with NET/ GATE Qualification, Rs 25,000 /- Per Month.
Post Graduate degree in engineering/ technology (M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch. or equivalent) with NET/GATE qualification, Rs. 25,000/- (1st & 2nd Year) and Rs. 28,000/- (3rd year onwards).
