New Delhi, 24 November 2020:  In India there are 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). There are 32 National Institutes of Technology (NITs). There are 20 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). All these premier institutes enjoy Institute of National importance (INI) tag of the government.

 For Doctoral Programmes, these institutes offer attractive Fellowships to PhD scholars. Even IIMs in offer Free -Tuition fees  in addition to monthly fellowship/stipend under the guidelines of Ministry of Education and these institutes.

As on 24 November 2020, these are Seven IITs, Two NITs and Seven IIMs which have opened their PhD Application window. These all institutes offer Fellowships benefits to regular PhD scholars.

 Out of these, IIT Kharagpur closes application PhD  portal for Spring Semester 2020-21. NIT Surat closes PhD Application portal for January 2021.

Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT) Surat and NIT Andhra Pradesh have opened PhD Application window.
