Surat, 15 November 2023: Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, an Institute of National Importance,  has invited applications for PhD Programmes for January 2024 session.   Institute Fellowship benefits are available to Full Time PhD scholars.

The institutes  provide PhD programmes under the following categories:  (a) Full-time Institute Research Scholars (FIR); (b) Full-time Research Scholars and Paid by Government/Semi-Government Organization / QIP / EFIP (FRS); (c) Full-time Sponsored Candidate (FSC); (d) Part-time Institute Faculty and Staff (PIS); (e) Part-time Project Staff (PPF); (f) Part-time External candidates (PEC); (g) Full-time Self-Financed candidate (FSF); (h) Full-time Study Leave candidate (FSL).

Key Dates:

Last date of registration and non-refundable fee payment is 26 November 2023 ( 11.59 pm, IST ).

Last date of submission of on-line application forms: 30 November 2023 ( 11.59 pm, IST ).

The candidates applying for admission in Ph.D programme for Spring semester of A.Y. 2022-23 will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 500/- (for Gen/OB/EWS) and Rs. 250/- (for SC/ST/PWD) through the online payment portal of the institute.

The PhD programmes are offered but NIT Surat in the following academic departments of the Institute.

Civil Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

Electronics Engineering & Communication Engineering

Computer Engineering

Mathematics

Physics

Chemistry

Management

English

Full time Institute Research scholars (FIR) taking admission in Ph.D. Programs in Engineering, Sciences, English and Management should have qualified GATE/NET/CAT Examinations, at least once, in an academic career.

Full-time Institute Research Scholars are recipients of the Institute scholarships and are governed by the Scholarship rules.

Full time Institute Research (FIR) Scholar candidate must be GATE/NET qualified once at the time of admission and will receive their stipend and contingency grants as per MoE guidelines.
