As on 01 May 2025, there are two Central Universities have announced PhD for 2024-25 Academic Year. The total number of vacant seats are 1501 seats.

New Delhi, 01 May 2025: University of Delhi, a Central University, has announced admission to PhD Programmes for the Academic Session 2024-25 Phase II.
For admission to Phase II of Ph.D. Program for the academic session 2024-2025, the scores of NET Examinaon conducted in June 2024 and December 2024 (held on January 03 – January 27, 2025) will be considered.
Total Vacant Seats: The total number of vacant seats are 1071 in 52 departments.

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU), Srinagar 2024-25 for 430 Seats
Srinagar, Uttarakhand, 26 April 2025: Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU), Srinagar, has announced PhD Admission for 2024-25.
The University shall admit Ph.D. students through an all India Entrance Examination and interview jointly. However, the following categories of the applicants shall be exempted from the Entrance Examination, but they have to apply online on the prescribed form till the due date along with fee.
UGC NET/UGC-CSIR NET/ GATE/CEED/ICAR/DST Inspire and similar national level tests qualified candidates.
Key Dates: Starting date for submission of online application is 23 April 2025.
The closing date for submission of online application is 08 May 2025 ( Up to 11.55 PM).
