New Delhi, 31 January 2023: The UQ – IITD Academy of Research (UQIDAR) is a transnational collaborative joint-PhD program that supports research in multi-disciplinary areas. The University of Queensland, a top university from Australia, and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi Academy of Research have collaborated to offer Joint PhD Programes.
The UQ – IITD Academy of Research (UQIDAR) will open application portal on 14 February 2023 for Cycle 1 (July) 2023.
Key Dates:
14 February 2023 – Expressions of Interest open
15 March 2023 – Expressions of Interest close
2 June 2023 – Offers sent
9 June 2023 – Deadline to accept offers
July 2023 – Cohort commences at IITD
July 2023 – Cohort commences at UQ (RQ3, 2022)
There are two PhD pathways to consider: i-students and q-students.
Indian nationals and international applicants (with citizenship other than Australia), will be considered for admission as i-students. i-students will spend their first year of study at IITD before completing one year (or more) at UQ. They would then complete the remainder of their studies at IITD.
Australian domestic students will be considered for admission as q-students. q-students will spend their first year of study at UQ before completing one year (or more) at IITD.
Key Research Areas: UQIDAR will leverage a shared history of research excellence to focus on interdisciplinary themes.
Healthy Eating, Feeding the World, Resilient Environment, Technology for Tomorrow, Transforming Societies.
All successful UQIDAR PhD applicants will be offered a scholarship to enable students to focus on their research.
