Kolkata: Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata, has invited applications from interested and eligible candidates for Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) in Zoological Survey of India in HQ, Kolkata and regional centers. The position is for a period of five years and purely on temporary basis and will be terminated on completion of the project. On Completion of two years, the JRF will be upgraded to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) based on satisfactory performance and assessment through Expert Committee.

No of Posts: 10-20 (The number of posts may vary as per availability of suitable candidates).
Educational Qualification: Master degree in Zoology / Life Sciences /Biological Sciences or Equivalent with Zoology as a major subject in undergraduate level from a recognized University with minimum 60% marks.
Desirable Qualification: Research experience in taxonomy, systematics, zoology or allied subject, field survey experience in wildlife, wildlife photography, knowledge of Computer and basic field data collection.
Age Limit: Age shall not be more than 28 years as on 30 January 2018. Upper age limit is relaxed up to 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-Non Creamy Layer (NCL)/Women/ Physically Challenged applicants.
Remuneration: Rs. 12,000/- +Admissible HRA (As per rules)

Candidate will be shortlisted on the basis of their qualification and experience. Mere possession of qualification and experience may not entertain a candidate called for interview or selection. Although, there is indication for number of vacancy, the Director, ZSI reserve the rights for selection of any number of candidates.
