New Delhi: The HRD Ministry of India has launched a special Ranking System “Swachhta” for higher educational institutes, which will be ranked based a multiple on hygienic and cleanness factors practices in their campuses. The criteria for judging cleanness drive of institutes will be based on two broad factors: In-Campus Hygiene (85% weightage) and Activities outside Campus (15% weightage).
Now the government has called for participation from all colleges, universities and institutes. The entries will open from 20 July 2017. The window will close on 31 July 2017. The interested institutes should log in to AISHE portal: www.aishe.nic.in or www.mhrd.gov.in
In-Campus Hygiene: Availability of toilets in hostels, academic building, toilet conditions, running water facility; Garbage clearance in campus and frequency; whether any solid and liquid waste management system used; Water storage, pipeline system and quality of drinking water; Green coverage campus; others
Activities outside Campus: Whether any village or neighborhood adopted; Outcomes achieved in spreading hygienic
After submission of entries by educational institutes, inspection team from Ministry of HRD will visit these institutes in August 2017. The finalization of rankings will be done in the first week of September 2017. The government will award top ranked Swachhta institutes on 08 September 2017.
