Siliguri: The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India has selected Amit Agarwal, second year BBA student of Inspiria Knowledge Campus, as one of the Top Ten Young Entrepreneurs with a vision to change India. In recognition of this rare achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will felicitate Amit along with the other awardees at a special programme at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the 28th of September this year.

The Entrepreneurship Programme initiated by the Centre’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship began in the month of May and included a section where budding entrepreneurs were required to submit a ‘disrupting and innovative plan’ with full market correspondence that would address a core problem faced by markets in India.

Amit, who ranked first proposed the idea of his innovative company UPCART which has a vision to deliver a robust and innovative solution to the problem of luggage carriage and traverse stairs. UPCART aims to address the very problem of carrying heavy luggage up and down stairways, where there are no escalators or elevators, through a smooth, user-friendly strategy. He had earlier presented the blueprint of UPCART at the NASSCOM eSummit 2016. Backed by the Management and the faculty members of his college; Amit excelled in appropriating the design of his product. The reward for his efforts was a formal letter from the Ministry informing him of his selection as one of the Top Ten Young Entrepreneurs of India.

Inspiria Knowledge Campus, Matigara (Siliguri) along with Calcutta South Round Table India (CSRT 17), member of Round Table India declared a special scholarship for Amit for his fifth and sixth semester with a promise to sponsor all his entrepreneurship efforts.

Amit will visit New Delhi in September, 2017 to receive his award where he will get an opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
