Varanasi: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will conduct Research Entrance Test (RET) on 27 November 2016 (Sunday) for admission to PhD/ Vidyavaridhi/MPhil/Integrated MPhil-PhD programmes for the academic session 2016-17. The RET notification of BHU informed that the submission of online application will commence from 22 October 2016 while last date for online submission of application is 12 November 2016.

The submission of application is through online mode only. Certain categories of candidates are eligible for direct admission in PhD under TET-exempted category.  The notification appeared in a national daily said that the detailed admission procedure is in the information bulletin available at BHU website: http://bhuonline.in/ . The information bulletin has been uploaded on the BHU website. The link for the information bulletin is given below:  http://bhuonline.in/pdfs16/RET2016-bulletin.pdf 

Interested candidates are requested to refer the information bulletin of Research Entrance Test (RET) for eligibility criteria and areas of research aviailable under various departments of BHU. As per the information bulletin of BHU, RET will have three components: Test A: Test to assess Logical and Analytical Capability; Test B: Test to assess Subject Knowledge; Test C: Research proposal and Personal Interview.

 BHU is a leading Central University in India. The University is considered as the largest residential University in Asia. Over 30,000 students from all over India and 65 foreign countries are enrolled in various faculties of the University. The University has 76 hostels, having nearly 15,000 inmates, with all modern amenities.

BHU has received University with potential for excellence status from the UGC. Further, BHU is the only university in India which has Indian Institute of Technology-IIT (BHU) on its campus.
