New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the class 12th exam today afternoon. Overall pass percentage dipped to 83.05% in 2017 compared to 82.02%. More than 10 lakh 20 thousand students appeared the 12th board exam conducted by the CBSE. Girls have outshined boys by 9.5% as pass % among girls stands at 87.5% while among boys at 78.0%.
Trivandrum leads the city wise list with a pass percentage of 95.62%. Chennai and Delhi secure 92.30% and 88.37% pass percentages, respectively, said a press release by the CBSE. A total number 10,673 CBSE-affiliated schools participated the exam while the 12th class exam was conducted in 3504 centres.
The performance of foreign schools was impressive as overall pass percentage was 92.02%. Out of total 14,743 appeared candidates, 13,566 candidates passed the exam.
In the Delhi region, more than 2.37 lakh students appeared the exam while 210034 students passed the 12th class exam. The pass percentage was 88.37 in 2017 compared to 87.01 in 2016 in Delhi region.
In the category/institution wise, the performance of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (JNV) and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) outshines others. JNV schools posted 95.73 pass percentage while KV schools recorded 94.60 pass percentage. Independent (private) schools posted 79.27% pass percentage.
The topper of CBSE 12th class exam is Rakhsa Gopal from Amity Noida school. The other toppers in the exam are as followed: Bhoomi Sawant (DAV ,8-C, Chandigarh) second position; Aditya Jain, (Bhavan’s, 27-B Chandigarh) and Mannat Luthra (Bhavan’s, 27-B Chandigarh) jointly third.
Union HRD Minister Prakash Javdekar has already spoken to CBSE class 12th toppers in all three streams of science, commerce, and humanities and congratulated to all students.
