Mumbai: Council of Education and Development Programmes (CEDP Skill Institute), one of the premier institute imparting training and education based in Mumbai, recently oganised their Annual Graduating Show SKILL REBELS 2016. CEDP Skill Institute also felicitated eminent educationists, Industry Professionals and Activists for their incredible work and support in Skilling India with Revolutionary Skill Rebels Award in the field of Education, Employment & Empowerment on the occasion.
SKILL REBELS 2016 is a signature event that drew tremendous response of various industry professionals from across the country, altogether there are almost 40 leading companies and educational Institute grace the occasion
During this occasion, Shaheen Khan, Founder Director of CEDP Skill Institute, said “Far too often, the incredible potential in the world’s youth population is wasted by extreme poverty, discrimination or lack of skills and information. Skills development is a primary means of enabling young people to make a smooth transition to work, education and training to make the difference for youth between poverty and employment.” We know education and training are key success factors in increasing youth’s access to decent work. To accelerate the pace of Skill Development in our country CEDP has evaluated various opportunities and is looking at scaling up the program and revisiting the gaps so that more youth from across the country can get better careers and self-employment opportunities.
Mr. Vasim Shaikh, President, CEDP Skill Institute, reiterated the need for industry to come forth and participate in these initiatives as it is the ultimate beneficiary of the skilled workforce. Highlighting some of the existing challenges with respect to constraint of resources and inadequate financial support, he emphasised on the necessity for private organisations to contribute through their Corporate Social Responsibility funds.
