New Delhi: By 2025 India will be the largest Higher Education Market, said Mr N.Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh while delivering the key note address at the 12th FICCI Higher Education Summit & Exhibition 2016. Mr Naidu also said that India will supply Human Resource to meet the growing global needs.
The highly coveted FICCI Higher Education Summit 2016 on the theme ‘Education for Tomorrow: Learn in India-Learn for the World’ has commenced from today and will continue till 12 November 2016 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. As Andhra Pradesh is the Partner State, an 80-member delegation from the state is being led by Mr. N.Chandrababu Naidu to the summit while the Government of Andhra Pradesh signed some MoUs with FICCI on higher education.
“Education is the only commodity which multiples when you spent it”, said Mr Sudhanshu Pandey Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Mr Pandey added there is no wealth better than education.
Ms. Martine Reicherts, Director General, EU for Education & Culture opined that Higher Education plays important role in keeping society together. “As a country and policy maker we need to be sensitive towards the needs of students coming for education to India” said Ms Rita Teotia, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
“There should be right balance between competition & corporation for internationalization of Higher Education”, said Prof Martine Rahier.
More than 1000 delegates from India and abroad and post graduate students from universities across NCR region have participated in the conference. Around 200 foreign delegates from 55 countries from Africa, CIS region, Middle East, Central Asia, SAARC, SE Asia and North America are present at the summit. Also a 50-member delegation from the EU led by Director General Education and Culture is partnering with the summit. Member delegations from Israel, Turkey, Taiwan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Indonesia and Tajikistan have also actively participated.
