#HackForIndia v 2.0, a Hackathon contest in FinTech, AgriTech, EduTech, space, at IIT Patna kickstarts today

Patna: IEEE student branch Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna, in association with Mobile10x-IAMAI, is organizing a 24 hours Hackathon (#HackForIndia v 2.0) at IIT Patna from 06:00 PM, 30 September to 06:00 PM 1 October, 2016. It is a part of 15 cities Hackathon to support next Big App from India. Students from all the colleges in and around Patna are expected to participate.

In the Hackathon contest, individual developers or teams come together to build an App of their choice/idea. #HackforIndia is an open platform where one can build an app for Gaming, Utility, Public Service, Problem Solving etc. In  this Hackathon contest,  the participants will experience of coding together with friends and win prizes of worth Rs. 5 Lakhs, along with internships/job offers from industry leaders. The themes of the contest are HealthTech, FinTech, AgriTech, EduTech, Sanitation, Clean Energy, Governance, Open Category.

A team can have a maximum of 4 developers, minimum 1 developer.  At the end of #HackForIndia submit completed app along with brief documentation/presentation (as will be communicated during the Hackathon).

20 Apps will be shortlisted from 15 cities. Shortlisted Apps will be given a chance to present Fully Functional app to an esteemed Jury during a Mega-Challenge, which will be organized in Delhi during December’2016 (Details will be communicated separately to the shortlisted participants).

In case, shortlisted participants present a fully functional app in the Mega-Challenge, they will be given a prize of INR 50K (Each Team).  Winners will be awarded with Cash Prizes of worth INR 5.0 Lakhs.

The winners and shortlisted Apps would get opportunities: funding, mentoring support, goodies from the prominent industry members.

The Intellectual property of the App/Idea will reside with Developer before and after the Hackathon, whether he wins any prize or not. There is no participation fees for #HackforIndia v 2.0.

Here it can be mentioned that cash prize winners of  #HackForIndia v 1.0 were:  : TIPPIE, TRAVEL JAR, LIV REAL, SCALEX, TRIPAL, FLIX APP. Also these were mentored by FACEBOOK, MICROSOFT, VMAX, HELPCHAT.
