Mumbai: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has decided that Khadi will be their Convocation robe. After Gujarat University adopting Khadi as their Convocation robe, now Khadi is becoming popular as academic attire among premier educational institutes.  “It is a significant development and this shows that Khadi is gaining ground in every sphere of life.” said IIT, Bombay Director Prof Devang Khakhar. Khadi is our national symbol and the institute has adopted Khadi to inculcate feeling of nationalism in the students, Prof Devang added.
