Mumbai:  The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) conducted the CA CPT exam yesterday in two sessions across 171 cities in India. According to TopperLearning CA Common Proficiency Test (CPT)  and IPCC experts, it is essential to attempt a minimum of 170 questions to qualify for the next level. CA CPT was taken by 2.28 Lakh aspirants the year before.

Time management was of the essence while attempting the 200 questions owing to the lengthy nature of some problems and case study questions. CA experts at TopperLearning strongly advise against wasting time on a difficult question.

TopperLearning Academic Head for CA CPT commented, “It is essential that candidates are well-versed with the four CPT subjects: Accountancy, Mercantile Law, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. Exhaustive practice, familiarity with the paper pattern, knowledge of the current trends, and conceptual clarity are sure shot gateways to success in the CPT.”

The ICAI will announce the exact date of the CPT result around the first week of January 2017. Usually, CPT results are announced mid-January. TopperLearning experts strongly vouch for the fact that if CPT candidates are confident of clearing the proficiency test, they should start preparing for IPCC by the end of January. ICAI will conduct the next IPCC exam in May 2017.
