Guwahati: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati has invited online application from eligible candidates for PhD programmes commencing from December 2017. The PhD programmes are available in the following categories: Regular, Sponsored/Part-Time/External. The total number of vacant PhD seats are 213 for December 2017.
Key Dates: The online application process has commenced today (5 October 2017). The closing date of online application process is 27 October 2017. Institute assistantships will be available to eligible PhD students as per prevailing (MHRD, GOI/UGC) norms, as applicable from time to time. Financial benefits will be provided under Junior Research Fellow(JRF) norms.

Candidates still to appear in their qualifying degree examinations may also apply, provided they appear in all their qualifying degree examinations and complete all requirements for their degrees before 23-12-2017. If selected, such candidates shall be admitted provisionally, and they will have to furnish the results of their qualifying degree examinations latest by 31-01-2018. Further, they must fulfill the minimum requirements of marks/CPI, and other conditions like valid GATE score/CEED score/NET or INSPIRE certificate (as may be applicable) etc., as mentioned under eligibility criteria for respective programmes.
