Thanjavur: SASTRA University, a private university in Thirumalaisamudram, Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, invites online applications for its full-time PhD Programmes 2017. PhD programmes are offered in various research subjects under 10 disciplines: Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences , Computer Sciences /IT/Computer Applications, Civil Engineering, Electrical/Communication/Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Management.

The closing date for submission of application is 09 June 2017. The selection of PhD candidates will be based on a written test followed by an interview on 12 June 2017. Applicants who clear the online test will have to appear for a personal interview on the campus @ Tifac Core. The university mentioned that a monthly stipend of Rs 14,000-16,000 will be provided to selected PhD candidates.

Eligibility Conditions:

A minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying degree in the relevant discipline.

Master’s degree engineering/technology/management/ pharmacy/science/arts/computer applications.

Chartered Accountant (CA) with two years of work experience.

Selection: The candidates will be selected in a two phase process: Written and Interview. 2. The online test will be for 2 hours duration and will contain two sections: (i) General Aptitude and (ii) Technical Section.  General Aptitude will be for one hour duration and will consist of three sections – Verbal, Quantitative and Analytical. Technical section will also be for one hour duration. All questions will be multiple choice type with no negative marking.
