London/Mumbai: Harvard University, USA has been crowned again as the best business school in the world as per QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017. London Business School, UK bags second spot while INSEAD, France secured third position.  Global higher education analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds have released their first global ranking of the world’s best places to study Business & Management Studies on o8 March 2017.

The ranking is released as part of their annual QS World University Rankings by Subject launch, which enumerates the world’s best universities for the study of 46 different subjects.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), home of the Sloan School of Management, has jumped to fourth place. The world’s top 300 business schools are ranked.  University of Pennsylvania, USA finds fifth place.

The other top ten Business schools as per QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017 are as followed:  Stanford University, USA (sixth); University of Oxford, UK ( seventh);  University of Cambridge, UK (eight),  London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), UK (ninth); and University of California, Berkeley (UCB),  USA (Tenth).

This year, changes to the way in which QS analyse responses to their Academic Survey and Employer Survey result in a number of standalone business schools making headway in the 2017 table.

QS’s Business & Management Studies ranking is based on surveying academic staff that declare a speciality in the subject, and employers who seek to employ graduates that specialize in the discipline. It is also based on the research output and impact of each relevant faculty, with both citations and paper output measured over a five-year period. The world’s leading university this year for Business-and-Management-related research, according to QS’s citations indicator, is the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
