Bhubaneswar: India Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar on 07 January 2017 hosts a seminar on Spirituality: An algorithm for perfect life: Why should and how can we learn it? The seminar speech will be delivered by Professor Kanchan Chowdhury, IIT Kharagpur. Prof Chowdhury, is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from IIT Kharagpur and obtained doctorate from the same institution in 1984. He is currently a professor of Cryogenic Engineering Centre at IIT Kharagpur.

Every skill, trade or art requires training to flourish. Similarly, an individual needs to be trained for about two decades for becoming an engineer, doctor, or a manager. An athlete or an artist follows the same path before achieving the success. In the similar fashion, learning spirituality also requires sustained and disciplined approach to unlock the treasures of inner wisdom.

Prof Chowdhury has close interaction with industry and regularly advises and trains their engineers on Cryogenic Air Separation and Prevention of Fire in Oxygen Systems. More than 1100 engineers from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar have been trained through 50-odd training programs.

In addition to his above expertise and experience, he has spoken on spirituality at a host of institutions in the past, such as IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, BIT Meshra, NIT Jamshedpur, University of Kolkata.

The seminar will focus on the following key aspects: spirituality goes beyond the levels of body and intelligence to include mind, ego and the soul; spirituality with a God-conscious life is the algorithm that reflects the perfect happiness; and how spirituality  can help overcome anxiety, worry, hatred, jealousy, anger, frustration and greed.
