Roorkee:  Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, a premier technological institute in India, invited applications from eligible candidates for various PhD programmes for Autumn Semester of the session 2017-18. PhD Programmes are available in all departments/centres including Institute Instrumentation Centre, Centre of Excellence in Transportation Systems, Centre of Excellence in Disaster Mitigation & Management and Centre of Excellence in Nanotechnology.

The submission of online applications has opened today at the official website of IIT Roorkee from today (08  Feb 2017)  (http://pgadm.iitr.ernet.in) .  The closing date for submission of online applications is 24 Feb 2017. The closing date for receiving of downloaded Application Form at PG Admission Office, IIT Roorkee is 27 February  2017.

The various streams available for pursuing PhD programmes are as followed: Alternate Hydro Energy, Architecture and Planning, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Earthquake Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Earth Sciences, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Hydrology, Humanities & Social Sciences (English, Economics, Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology, Fine Arts and related interdisciplinary subjects), Management Studies, Mathematics, Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, Physics, Metallurgical & Materials, Engineering, Paper Technology,  Disaster Mitigation and Management, Water Resources Development & Management, Nanotechnology, Transportation Systems, Polymer and Process Engg, Institute Instrument Centre,

Eligibility Conditions: For exact eligibility criteria, candidates should refer the Information Brochure of   PhD Programmes Autumn Semester of the session 2017-18 uploaded on the admission page of the official website of IIT Roorkee.

Part-time PhD programmes are also available with specific clause applicable to them.

Fellowship: Ministry of HRD Assistantship/Fellowship is available deserving candidates under various PhD programmes.

IIT Roorkee informed that PhD admission will be offered subject to availability of seats, faculty in the specialization and the Institute Assistantship.
