Chennai, 16 January 2018: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is offering a two-month Summer Fellowship Programme from 16 May 2018 for students from outside the Indian Institutes of Technology. A sum of Rs.6, 000/- per month would be provided as a stipend. The deadline for submitting the applications is 5.00 pm, 28 February 2018.

The internship is designed to enhance awareness and interest in high-quality academic research among young Engineering, Management, Sciences and Humanities students through a goal oriented summer mini-project undertaken at IIT Madras.

 Speaking about the Summer Internship, Prof. V. Jagadeesh Kumar, Dean (Academic Courses), IIT Madras, said, “This an opportunity for students to work with leading researchers on problems that are current and forefront of technology.”

Candidates pursuing Third Year of B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Eng.)/Integrated M.E./ M.Tech. Programme, First Year of ME / M.Tech. / M.Sc. / M.A and MBA are eligible to apply. Candidates with an outstanding academic background in terms of good ranks in university examinations are encouraged to apply.

The Applications for this Summer Fellowship Programme should highlight academic performance and achievement including papers presented at seminars, projects executed, design contests participated, score/rank in Mathematics Olympiad and any other awards/distinctions obtained.
