New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented the Budget 2020-21 today. There is new development in  recruitment process  for Non-Gazetted posts in governments and public sector banks.

The Union Budget proposes to set up a National Recruitment Agency (NRA) as an independent, professional, specialist organisation for conduct of a computer-based online Common Eligibility Test for recruitment to Non- Gazetted posts.

Also, Finance Minister informed that a test-centre in every district, particularly in the Aspirational Districts would be set up.

National Recruitment Agency (NRA) aims at bringing major reforms in recruitment to Non-Gazetted posts in governments and public sector banks. At present, candidates have to appear for multiple examinations conducted by multiple agencies at different points of time, for similar posts. This places enormous burden on time, effort and cost of young people.  NRA will resolve the above problems.

The Budget also proposes External Commercial Borrowings and FDI will be enabled for education sector. “It is felt that our education system needs greater inflow of finance to attract talented teachers, innovate and build better labs. Therefore steps would be taken to enable sourcing External Commercial Borrowings and FDI so as to able to deliver higher quality education,” said Finance Minister.

“ With umpteen focused initiatives like – FDI, emphasis on new skill development and entrepreneurship, launch of new online degree courses /apprenticeship programmes and allocation of Rs 99,300 crore for world-class education, Budget2020 will help position India as a global educational hub. We appreciate the launch of the ‘Study in India’ programme which will enable foreign students to apply for scholarships to study in India. Overall, we believe that this renewed push on providing quality education and enhancing the skills of our youth, will help India play a lead role in shaping the global economy in the future.” – Mr P K Gupta, Chancellor, Sharda University.
