Nirjuli, Itanagar: North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST), Deemed to be University, Nirjuli, Itanagar, has announced Admission for Post Graduate & Ph.D. Programmes: MSc, MBA, MTech and PhD for 2020-21.
NERIST is an autonomous, fully funded and controlled by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education, Government of India.

Eligibility Conditions:
Candidates must possess the educational qualifications as stated below for applying to the programmes.
M.Sc. in Forestry: 4-year Bachelor of Science in Forestry with a CGPA 6.5 on a 10.00-point scale or 60% marks in aggregate. 5% marks relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PWD Category.
M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics: B.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics with 55% marks in aggregate (Pass Course) and 50% marks in major/honours subject. 5% marks relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PWD Category.
Tech.: B. Tech. or equivalent degree with a CGPA 6.5 on a 10.00 point scale or 60% marks in aggregate for General Category with valid GATE Score. 5% marks relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PWD category Candidates. Candidates without GATE score will also be considered, subject to availability of seats.
MBA: Bachelor Degree in any discipline/courses approved by UGC or AICTE, with 55% marks in aggregate and 50% for SC/ST category.
Ph.D. (Full Time & Part Time): Candidates having Master’s Degree in Engineering & Technology with 60% marks in aggregate or CGPA 6.5 on 10.00-point scale and 55% marks in aggregate in Science/Humanities for General category. 5% marks relaxation will be given to SC/ST/PWD category in both the cases. Applicants, who wish to pursue Ph.D. while in employment /service, need to submit NOC from (Annexure-IV) their employer at the time of counselling cum admission.
The GATE qualified candidates admitted in M. Tech courses (AICTE approved courses) are eligible for Scholarship/Stipend as per the AICTE norms, and shall be required to apply to the AICTE portal after admission as an when the notification in this regard issued by AICTE.
There is a provision of limited scholarship for the Ph.D. (Full Time) scholar as per Institute norms and the Institute decision in this regard shall be treated as final.

Admission Process for PG Programmes:
A candidate with valid GATE score will be exempted from entrance examination for admission in M.Tech./ M.Sc.
- Candidates appearing for MBA will have to appear in written test and Group Discussion/Personal Interview. CAT/MAT qualified candidates will be exempted from the written test only. Weightage for the written test and Group Discussion/Personal Interview will be 75% and 25%, respectively. Selection of provisionally selected candidates will be made on the basis of total marks. Candidates having valid CAT score will be given full weightage of allotted written test marks (100 marks). Candidates having valid MAT score will be given 80 marks (80% weightage). (If a candidate with a valid MAT Score wants to appear in written test, the candidate will be allowed to appear in the examination. In this case, the written test score of the candidate will be considered in place of MAT score). Group Discussion/Personal Interview shall be conducted in the Centre of Management Studies and marks will be submitted to the Chairman, PG and PhD Admission Committee.
- Written test shall be conducted for the candidates who do not have valid GATE/CAT/MAT score for admission in M.Tech./M.Sc./MBA
