New Delhi: the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with University of Latvia on establishment of an academic chair in Ayurveda yesterday (20 August 2016) at AYUSH Bhawan, New Delhi. The MoU was signed by Vaidya K.S. Dhiman, Director General, CCRAS and Dr. Valdis Pirags, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Director of the Centre of Complementary Medicine, University of Latvia in the presence of Mr Ajit M. Sharan, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Mr A.K. Ganeriwala, Joint Secretary, AYUSH and Ms. Stella Ankrava, First Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Latvia.
The MoU will provide a structured framework for taking forward academic and research activities in Ayurveda through deputation of an Ayurveda Professor to the University of Latvia.
