Kolkata : The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta has been recognized and globally acclaimed for its excellence in teaching and training over the years. Cutting-edge research capabilities of its faculty members has paved the way for the Institute to be perceived as a powerhouse of innovative research in the field of management. Two faculty members have logged in more than 5000 citations on Google Scholar – Professor Debashis Saha of the Management Information Systems (MIS) is leading the trend with 6952 citations, closely followed by Professor Rahul Mukerjee (formerly) of the Operations Management Group with 5515 citations.

Professor Debashis Saha’s research contributions span across areas such as Digital Future of Business, ICT for Development, Digital Business Transformation, IT strategy and governance, Emerging ICT paradigms, Digital Disruptions, Business Transformation, and Business-driven IT. He has published about 300 research papers in various prestigious international journals. As a recognition of his significant contributions to the field, Professor Saha has been nominated on the Governing Council of the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology [IDRBT] – an apex-level body of the Government of India to spearhead Technology Absorption in the Indian Banking and Financial Sector.
Professor Rahul Mukerjee (formerly) of the Operations Management Group (5515), Professor Somprakash Bandyopadhyay (4734), Prof Sudip Chaudhuri (2452) and Prof Sougata Ray (2145) are some other faculty members who continue to have enormous research impact in terms of the number of citations of their publications.
