New Delhi, 18 July 2021: The Universities Grants Commission (UGC), the regulator for higher education, has informed that Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) may be implemented from Academic Session 2022-23.
In a statement via Twitter message the UGC said “In view of prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, admission process in Central Universities during Academic Session 2021-22, may continue as per past practice. Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) may be implemented from Acad Session 2022-23.”

Earlier the UGC and Ministry of Education have been planning to conduct the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) to admission to various UG, PG , Doctoral Programmes and other courses offered by all central Universities. However, due to current COVID 19 pandemic, the CUCET will not feasible.
Last time CUCET was conducted in 2020 where 15 Central Universities participated. Meanwhile, Ministry of Education was planning to include all Central Universities in this entrance test.
However, the UGC has not cleared whether CUCET, as like previous version, will be held in for the current year for the previous year participating institutes.
