Neemrana : Established with a vision to bring about innovation in higher education and learning in emerging areas of the knowledge society, the not-for-profit NIIT University (NU) hosted the 13th Annual Lecture delivered by Mr. K V Kamath, Former President, New Development Bank. Mr. Kamath spoke on “Digital India, Digital Currencies and Economic Growth,” at the annual event held online on 20th November 2021.

On this significant occasion, Mr. Kamath highlighted how the Digital India programme played a vital role in transforming India into a digitally empowered society and a knowledge economy. He also highlighted the fact that in the past few years, digital technology has played a vital role in accelerating the pace of India’s economic growth and how institutions like NU are grooming the ‘future leaders’ who would script success stories in a world that is becoming increasingly driven by technology.

Digital transformation was already trending when the pandemic brought technology to fore and heightened the pace of digitisation. Technology has been the cornerstone at NIIT University since its inception. Incorporation of technology with platforms such as NUgget aids in providing effective education to students even when they were confined to homes.

The Annual Lecture streamed live on NIIT University’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitter handles.

Mr Rajendra S Pawar, Founder, NIIT University, said, “In order to future-proof your career in today’s world, every individual must have a digital foundation. The world is changing at a faster rate than it was before the pandemic. As a result, no matter what your job is, you must be well versed in all the new age technology platforms, methods, and digital tools. At NU, we have made a real effort to set benchmarks in higher education and to encourage innovation and the use of technology to help students realise their full potential and play meaningful roles in the new world of work”

Prof Rajesh Khanna, President, NIIT University said, “Covid-19 has been a boon in disguise for the digital economy. It played a significant role in digitally transforming the country. Going digital helps not only to stay updated, but also provides real opportunities to students. At NU we have incorporated new-age technologies both in our curriculum and in our teaching learning methodologies to provide students with the skills of the future.”
