New Delhi, 16 March 2022: In India there are 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and 32 National Institutes of Technology (NITs). These institutes offer attractive Teaching Assistantship or Institutional Fellowships to PhD scholars.
The PhD Admission for Semester I – 2022-23 has started. As on 16 March 2021, there are Four IITs have opened PhD Admission for Semester I – 2022-23 . IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, and IIT Guwahati will release application portal for PhD Admission next semester.

IIT Madras Announces PhD, Direct PhD & MS (by Research) Admission July 2022 with Fellowships
Chennai, 16 March 2022: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras, an Institute of National Importance, has opened application window for PhD/Direct PhD/MS (by Research) Admission July 2022 Semester. Scholars admitted to PhD and MS programmes under Regular scheme are eligible for the following Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA).
Fellowships: Scholars admitted to PhD and M.S. programmes under Regular scheme are eligible for the following Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA). PhD Candidates will get Rs 31,000 /- Per Month while MS (By Research) candidates will get Rs 12,400 Per Month. They should work for 8 hours per week in the Departments to earn this assistantship.
Key Dates: The online application portal has opened from 18 March 2022. The last date of Receipt of Online Application is 30 April 2021.
IIT Delhi Opens Admission for PhD and MTech Courses Semester I 2022-23

IIT Gandhinagar Announces PhD Admission Sem I 2022-23 with Institute Fellowships
Gandhinagar, 03 March 2022: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar, an Institute of National Importance, has announced PhD Admission for Semester I 2022-23. Regular(RR) and Continuing Doctoral Programme (CDP) are available.
Students joining the PhD program as regulars (RR) will be considered for Institute Fellowship based on the Ministry of Education norms.

Minimum Eligibility Conditions:

IIT Indore Announces PhD Admission June 2022 with Institute Fellowships
Indore, 04 March 2022: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, an Institute of National Importance, has announced PhD Admission for Spring Semester 2021-22.
Types of PhD Admission:
FA (Fellowship Awardee): Fellowship Awardees from the funding agencies such as CSIR, UGC, NBHM, DST etc., OR JRF/ SRF project staff working in a sponsored research project under a faculty member, PI of the project, of IIT Indore. The scholarship will be as per the rules of the concerned funding agency.
TA (Teaching Assistantship): Institute Teaching Assistantship with scholarship as per MHRD guidelines.
SW (Sponsored WITHOUT Institute scholarship): For applicants sponsored from a highly reputed R & D organization or Industry.
IS (Institute Staff): Only for regular staff members of IIT Indore (on Part Time basis). (Additional Rules) DF (Defense Forces): Serving personnel of defense forces WITHOUT any scholarship from the Institute.
CT (College Teacher): Permanent Employee of the sponsoring College/Institute/University WITHOUT any scholarship from the Institute.
GATE is not compulsory for DF / IS / CT / SW category.
