New Delhi, 26 October 2022: In India there are 32 National Institutes of Technology (NITs). These institutes are dream destination for PhD scholars as NITs provide Institute Fellowships benefits.

As on 26 October 2022, there are two NITs have announced PhD for January 2022. The total number of vacant PhD seats are 140 under Institute Fellowships.

 List NITs Open PhD Admission:

  • NIT Trichy- 94 Fellowship Seats – 30 November 2022
  • NIT Calicut- 10 November 2022

NIT Trichy Opens PhD Admission January 2023 for 94 Seats with Fellowships

Tiruchirappalli, 25 October 2022: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli, Top NIT as per NIRF 2021, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to PhD for January 2023 session.

There are four types of PhD programmes available for admission:

(a) Full-Time: (i) Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA), and (ii) Externally Funded (iii) Non-Stipendiary

(b) Part-Time: In-Service (i) Internal and (ii) External

Total PhD Seats:  There are 17 departments offering PhD Programmes. The total number of PhD Seats with Institute Fellowships are 94 (Full Time-Stipendiary Category).

Key Dates & Application Fees: The closing date for submission of online application is 30 November 2022.

Tentative Schedule for Written Test*/Interview:  12 – 16 December 2022

NIT Calicut Opens PhD Admission December 2022 with Institute Fellowships

Calicut, 10 October 2022: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut, Kerala, an Institute of National Importance, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to PhD programmes July 2022 (Winter Semester (December) Admissions 2022-23). Institute Fellowships are available for Regular PhD Scholars.

Admission to the Ph.D. programmes will be in the following schemes:

Scheme I: Full-time candidates including direct Ph.D. after B. Tech. (with Institute Fellowship/Govt. Fellowships such as JRF/UGC/NET/CSIR/KSCSTE etc.)

Scheme II: Full-time candidates under the self-sponsored category

Scheme III: Full-time (sponsored) / External Registration for candidates from Industry or other organizations including Educational Institutions

Scheme IV: Internal Registrants – Regular staff employed at NITC /Research staff employed in funded projects at NITC

Scheme V: External (Part-time) Registration for candidates from Industry or other organizations including Educational Institutions

Key Dates: 

Activation of the website for submission of online application – 10 October 2022 (9.00AM)

Last date for submission of completed application form through on-line – 10 November 2022 (9.00PM)

Application Fee:  Application fee details are as follows: Rs. 1,000/- for OPEN/EWS/OBC/PwD candidates and Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates.
