London: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad is crowned as the best business schools in India, as per QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) Global 250 Business Schools Report 2017 released today globally. IIM Ahmedabad breaks into the Global Elite quadrant, which lists 45 world-leading business schools, and becomes the country’s only business school to feature in the prestigious group.
IIM Bangalore features the second place among B-Schools in India. The institute achieves a leading Employability score, and thus places in QS’s ‘Top-Tier Employability’ quadrant. The QS report mentioned that IIM Ahmedabad has achieved outstanding score both in graduate employability and academic standards.
Other B-Schools from India found place in the world’s 250 top business schools are as followed: IIM Calcutta, the Indian School of Business (ISB), and IIM Lucknow. These three institutes achieve strong but non-outstanding scores for both employability and academic performance. The report has placed these three in the ‘Mid-Tier’, or ‘Superior’ quadrant.
Harvard Business School is rated as North America’s best MBA provider based on both the employability of its graduates and its academic standards. The Wharton School stands second place regionally (North America) for academic performance, and third regionally for MBA graduate employability.
London Business School has emerged as Europe’s leading business school once again while it has achieved a perfect score for both employability and academic performance. INSEAD of France features second for the above two indicators.
42 business schools from the Asia-Pacific region are ranked: 17 from Australia, 6 from China, 5 from both Hong Kong and India, 4 from Singapore, 2 from Japan, and one each from South Korea, Taiwan, and New Zealand. INSEAD’s Singaporean satellite campus leads the region in the employability parameter while NUS Business School at the National University of Singapore is the region’s best for academic performance.
QS Global 250 Business Schools 2017 has in total, 107 of the 250 institutes hail from North America. Meanwhile, 82 B-Schools are from Europe, 42 from the Asia-Pacific region, 10 are Latin America, and 9 are the Middle East & Africa.
The report has classified global business schools into four quadrants: Global Elite, Top-Tier Research, Mid-tier, and Superior. These categories are based on the performance of B-Schools across all major world regions on the employability and academic parameters. The expert analyses of 12,125 MBA employers and 8,376 academics specialising in Business & Management contributed to QS’s own analysis.
