KIIT World School, Sohna Road, celebrated the 77th Independence Day with great pomp. A plantation campaign was conducted on the theme “Meri maati Mera Desh” to emphasise the significance of “Each One Plant One. The occasion was graced by Ashok Kumar, Deputy Commandant BSF; Kalpana Ranga, Deputy Director SCERT, Gurugram; and Shyam Raghav, Principal at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Bhondsi.
During the event, the auspicious flag hoisting ceremony was conducted on school premises. Chairman of KIIT World School, B.R. Kamrah, and CEO Anshuman Kamrah, along with chief guests and school staff, planted the saplings around the school campus. The school planted around 700 saplings to commemorate Independence Day.
A number of cultural programmes, like Patriotic songs, group dances, and poetry, were performed by the students. A nukkad natak was also presented by the students, which highlighted the importance of reducing plastic usage.
Neelima Kamrah, Principal of KIIT World School, said, “Independence Day is a day to remember the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and to pledge to uphold the values of freedom and democracy.”
Interacting with the students, she said, “You are the future of India, and it is up to you to build a better tomorrow. I urge you to use your education to make a positive impact on the world. Be leaders in your communities and fight for justice and equality.”
