IIM Ranchi proudly announces the Doctoral Research Conference (DRC) 2024 commencement, which began on 23rd August 2024. This two-day event is dedicated to advancing knowledge in management sciences and features a series of engaging and thought-provoking sessions.

Distinguished guests were ceremoniously ushered to the stage, setting an elegant tone for the inaugural ceremony. The proceedings began with the lighting of the lamp, accompanied by Saraswati Vandana, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge and enlightenment.

Prof. Prasenjit Chakrabarti, the Doctoral Chairperson, delivered a compelling welcome address, emphasizing the significance of the conference and outlining the sessions to follow.

Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director IIM Ranchi, addressed the audience, underscoring the institution’s unwavering commitment to fostering academic excellence. This was followed by the official inauguration of the Book of Abstracts, a pivotal moment in the conference’s proceedings.

The highlight of the ceremony was the keynote address by Prof. Virendra Kumar Malhotra, Chairman of the Food Commission of Madhya Pradesh. His inspiring speech delved into his research journey and the crucial role of researchers in nation-building. Prof. Malhotra also addressed significant issues within India’s research landscape, including the low GDP allocation for social science and management research and the concentration of research expenditure in science and technology.

A special session was conducted by Mr. Amit Siddhartha, CXO Advisory at Harvard Business Publishing, offering valuable insights into the intersection of business and academic research.

Today, six selected doctoral scholars presented their research on diverse topics in management sciences. Each presentation was followed by expert feedback from discussants, providing constructive suggestions for refining and enhancing the participants’ research.

The DRC 2024 continues to foster dialogue and collaboration in management sciences and is committed to advancing research and its application to real-world challenges.
